Harry Potter is one of the few themes my wife gets excited to see. She's a much bigger fan than me and I use her love of the material to get my hands on some LEGO. That being said, I've never been disappointed by a LEGO Harry Potter set, they always have great playability and are nice builds. Hopefully the Clock Tower won't break that streak.
In a first, a LEGO model had preceded the real life model. Pictures of this set appeared before Land Rover was able to announce their latest model. There has already been a lot said about the color. Let's judge the rest.
I'm a big City fan. from their versatile sets and reasonable prices I think it's up there with the best themes. And I think it's a largely ignored theme. Now I do have complaints about LEGO's current trend of stretching the theme a bit (a lot!), but at it's core, the Police, Fire, Hospital, Bank, Shop sets are great builds, great fun, and full of Minifigures, if they're your thing. As soon as I saw the Donut on the roof of this LEGO building I knew it had to be a set I reviewed. Luckily I have the opportunity, I hope it's as awesome as it looks.
There's a few major cities in America that have a big impact on the country, or the world even. The Windy City, The Big Apple, The City of Angels, all great places rich with architecture, history, and people. But none have such an impact despite being relatively small (footprint not population) and hidden away like The City by the Bay. It's become the tentpole city for progressive ideas and artistic creativity. And has such recognisable landmarks it's hard to believe it's taken this long to create a Skyline set of it.
Ok, I need to open with a disclaimer, my opinion on this set may be slightly compromised. When Toy Story was released in 1995 I was exactly the target audience. So much so, when people ask me what my favorite movie is I tell them Toy Story. Now it's probably not my favorite all the time but people don't like you giving them a full list of favorite movies for each mood. I used to like to pretend that my toys came to life when I was sleeping, and out of fear of upsetting one of them I made the extra effort to say goodnight to them all. Does this Toy Story set bring back all those feelings I had as a kid? Can't wait to find out.
This review is for my first ever Ninjago set, I hope I won't be disappointed with it. Ninjago has never been a theme I was keen on. That all changed with the LEGO Ninjago Movie. I'm sure Ninjago purists will condemn me for saying that. The movie, just like The LEGO Movie and The LEGO Batman Movie, was just plain-old good fun. The first 'tentpole' set from the movie was the Ninjago City set (70620-1) and it looked amazing. Disappointingly, it was a little out of my immediate budget. So when The City Docks was released a year later I decided this would be my next big spend. Just had to convince the wife of the same. Then I found every LEGO fans holy grail, a 50% discount! Risking divorce, I made the impulse purchase. Lets find out if the set was worth the roof over my head!
The largest Technic set ever, with the largest amount of motors, all controllable by an app. But also the most expensive. Is it worth the money?...
Speed Champions are sets that squeezes a lot of SNOT into a small, solid build. We take a look at one of the latest sets, 75893-1 - 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon and 1970 Dodge Charger R/T
LEGO Spider-Man, LEGO Spider-Man. Does whatever a LEGO Spider can. This week, with all the recent drama surrounding Spider-Man and his exit from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, I thought it would be a good time to take a look at one of the sets in the Spider-Man: Far From Home series.
The Löwenstein Castle was designed by Raziel Regulus (who has a number of MOCs here), and was the largest MOC offerred through the recent BrickLink AFOL Designer Program.
